THYROID TESTING

When it comes to setting a course of action for correcting hormonal imbalances related to thyroid issues, it’s important to have a clear understanding of what the specific issue is. This helps guide future decisions regarding which specific treatments and hormones are needed for your unique situation.

What Are The Different Kinds Of Thyroid Tests?

If symptoms of a thyroid issue are present, we’ll proceed with a series of more thorough tests. The reason we go through the complete testing process and don’t diagnose based on apparent symptoms alone is because the symptoms of many thyroid issues can be caused by other sources as well. These in-depth tests will make sure we know for sure if your thyroid is involved, and give direction for future steps.

Our endocrinologists take blood and measure the different levels of various hormones. For thyroid concerns, our main focus will be on the hormones triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). Based on those levels, we can determine if you are experiencing hyperthyroidism (too much T3 and T4) hypothyroidism (too little T3 and T4).

If an issue is found, the next step is usually an ultrasound to determine if there are structural irregularities that may be causing the hormonal imbalances. With this information, we can then decide which is the best direction to go in.

Do I have thyroid issues?

We’ll have to complete testing to be sure if you’re suffering from thyroid hormone deficiencies. But for a complete list of potential symptoms, please see our thyroid resources for  men or women.

Don’t suffer through your symptoms! We can help.

What Kind Of Treatment Is Available?

Bioidentical Hormone Therapy

If it is determined that you have an issue that can be either corrected or managed through hormonal therapy, there are several treatments available. At Renewed Vitality, we use bioidentical hormone replacement therapy to help balance your levels. These hormones are generated using plant-based sources which create biologically identical signatures to what the human body naturally produces.

Pellets, Creams, Gels & Patches

These bioidentical hormones are introduced into the body using one of a variety of methods. Our preferred procedure is pellet therapy, but we also utilize creams and gels, hormone replacement patches, and oral hormone replacement. Each plan is carefully tailored to the preferences and needs of every individual patient. Working with our practitioner, we can find a therapy that suits you best.
